**Job title: Greenkeeper/ Gardener**

Saltburn Golf Club are searching for a hard working and enthusiastic Greenkeeper/ Gardener to join their team.

**Main purpose of the role**

Reporting to the Head Greenkeeper, you will be part of a small team ensuring that Saltburn Golf Course is always maintained and presented to members in the best possible condition throughout the year.

You are required to carry out golf course maintenance taks as directed by the Head Greenkeeper, in accordance with the Club's Course Managment policy and its Health and Safety policy.

**Key duties and responsibilities**
- Cutting all playing surfaces, changing holes, moving markers, raking bunkers and ensuring that the course is at all times kept to the best possible condition.
- Undertake bunker maintenance, weeding, mowing and raking
- Construction, aeration and turfing work.
- Irrigation system maintenance
- To operate grass cutting and all other machinery, safely and effectively
- Care and maintenance of machinery and reporting any damage to the Greens committee
- Ensure the effective operation and safe handling of all machinery and equipment following all Health and Safety procedures.
- To work within the Health and Safety policy, COSHH and Risk Assessments at all times.
- Ensure the efficient and effective operation and safe handling of all chemicals
- Any other duties that may be required

**Experience and Qualifications**
- Experience in Greenkeeping, landscaping and gardening is essential
- Gardening/ Greenkeeping qualifications are desirable

**Skills**
- Be physically fit, hardworking and be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Have a good understanding of Health and Safety
- Have a good understanding of the machinery and possess a mechanical aptitude.
- An eye for detail to be able to carry out work to a high standard

**Personality/ Attitude**
- A flexible approach to work and working hours, with the capacity to carry out weekend work.
- Good time keeping skills and reliability
- A good team worker
- The ability to work accurately and complete tasks on time and ensure that deadlines are met.
- Good interpersonal skills
- Able to work on own initiative.

Starting hourly rate is dependent on experience
