**Real Estate Underwriter**
**Chelmsford**
**Up to £45,000 (DOE)**
We are on the lookout for a Real Estate Underwriter in our Commercial Lines Team.
The purpose of the role is to support the profitable delivery of the Mid-Market commercial account by underwriting bespoke risks that align to the Covéa strategy and appetite.
The role is a hybrid role, therefore will involve working from home and also our Chelmsford office.

**What will I be doing?**
- Support profitable delivery of the Mid-Market commercial account by underwriting bespoke risks that align to the Covéa strategy and appetite.
- Develop and support mutually beneficial relationships within a panel of South Region brokers through positive engagement.
- Prospect and actively contribute to the growth targets of the team optimising sales and retention.
- Take ownership of allocated cases and work proactively with the broker to negotiate the right outcome.
- Maintain an accurate audit trail using Covéa Insurance’s systems, practices and procedures.
- Underwrite within Covéa strategy and authority limits and refer all cases outside of strategy or individual limits.
- Support and maintain agreed service levels to both internal and external customers.
- Maintain an up to date knowledge of: the commercial lines market, the regional broking marketplace, legislation and litigation which could affect the writing of business
- Support referrals within your team, providing technical assistance and guidance to junior colleagues.
**What would we like to see in you?**
- Strong trading skills with proven experience in building and maintaining relationships to support development of broker accounts.
- Experience in underwriting and trading mid-market real estate
- The ability to work independently but also as part of a team to deliver common goals and achieve deadlines.
- Responds positively to feedback, acts on this and uses it to improve performance.
- Good communication skills with the ability to positively influence.
- The ability to organise, prioritise and manage workflow to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Minimum Dip CII or working towards
