Yard Manager

Our client based in Billericay is looking for an experienced yard or depot manager to join their team on a permanent basis. You will be responsible for leading and managing a team of engineers whilst overseeing all of the yard operations.

**Duties involved in the Yard Manager role:

- Planning and managing the daily workload for the yard team
- Managing the yards repairs programme, liaising with the repairs manager to ensure units are mechanically and electrically compliant.
- Monitoring the teams' time management and performance, checking their work, carrying out spot checks and reporting on staff performance and project status. Planning staff holidays ensuring there is adequate cover at all times.
- Oversee and manage the yard operation, ensuring hire equipment is ready to leave the yard on time and meets set quality standards.
- Be proactive assisting with the team when needed, assisting with mechanical and electrical support, moving units on the forklift, problem solving and leading by example
- Work closely with the hire desk, transport office and repairs team.

**Requirements for the Yard Manager role:

- Highly organised
- Able to lead by example in a fast paced yard
- Natural ability to get the most out of your staff
- Forklift license would be an advantage
