GSL SEN Education are looking for an aspiring a Youth Justice Officer Hackney to work as a SEN LSA in one of our specialist schools for children who have an EHCP for their trauma, social, emotional and mental health challenges.The LSA role being aimed atsincere Criminology, Psychology or Sociology graduates, looking to gain practical experience within the field. This role will help you with your aspirations within advocacy and Youth Justice, giving you daily exposure to just how nuanced and vital this roleis.
2 key questions to always remind yourself of when taking on this LSA role in an AP when you are working with your students:

- Can you make the student’s life just that little bit better today, building comfort first?_
- Leading to _
- Can you demonstrate the value of an education to the students?_
These are 2 of the key aspects of this role, you must be sincere and understand this role and roles similar, are very challenging.This LSA role is very challenging as each child has a different context for their mental health and trauma, their own idiosyncrasies,cultures, and home lives that will be very different to each other.Therefore, building comfort and relationships, through a restorative model is so important and should never be overlooked.
That is why it is vital that you can QUALIFY and even more importantly, DISQUALIFY the SEN and Mental Health sectors for yourself.

*School: Monday to Friday, full time, 8:30 to 16:00pm, term time only
*Working with outstanding SEN Professionals and like-minded Psychology and Criminology graduates
*Outstanding support provided from your consultant each step of the way during the registration and preparation for trial day processes, to the constant care and support when you are in role.
*Classes of no more than 6, you will have a mixture of 1:1 and small group work in class, dependent on the lesson and individual contexts
*Focus on Key and Personal Skills, Sports, Cooking, Technology, Music, Drama, Photography and Art, to name a few
*Level 4 and above grade (A* to C) required in Maths and English
- All training and support provided by the school with their excellent training system
