Mamoosh Bakery is a family-run Middle Eastern bakery that specializes in pitta bread. It is located in Newhaven, East Sussex and was established in 2015

The business is growing year on year and now heading into a new growth phase.

We are looking for a head baker that will help us upscale the business and gradually introduce more machinery to manufacture a higher volume while staying true to our product and ethos.

Job description

This is a full-time position, 40 - 44 hours a week.

Five days a week, Monday to Friday

5pm to 7pm start

**Responsibilities**:

- Oversee the production of baked goods and desserts
- Train and mentor bakers on best practices and new techniques
- Monitor inventory levels and place orders for ingredients and supplies
- Ensure that all bakery equipment is properly maintained and serviced
- Manage the bakery budget and track expenses
- Maintain a clean and organized bakery workspace
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and innovations
- Train and supervise other bakers
- Carry out all food safety & hygiene regulations

**Requirements**:

- Minimum of 10 years of experience as a professional baker, with at least 2 years in a leadership role
- Strong knowledge of baking techniques and ingredients
- Great understanding of bakery equipment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage and motivate a team
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work nights and weekends on a rota basis
- Degree or diploma in baking is preferred
- Food hygiene level 2 required
