**The School Sports Coach Apprenticeship - ** has an important role to play in improving the health and wellbeing of children, families and communities by delivering fun, inclusive and engaging activities that help to bring about a change in physical activity habits.

They will use extensive technical and tactical sports knowledge and skills to design and deliver coaching programmes that engage, motivate and evolve participants’ skills and performance.

Their work will increase participation, help to raise educational standards, enhance wellbeing and drive social change. Sports coaches work both autonomously and collaboratively to deliver progressive programmes that align to wider curriculum plans. These are tailored to individuals and diverse groups of participants based on robust profiling techniques and whole person development needs

**What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?**

Sector specific CPD, such as:

- Workforce Mentoring CPD
- Management & Leadership CPD
- 1 st 4 Sport - Mental Health Awareness for Sport and Physical Activity training
- CPD in Supporting Behaviour Change
- Mental Health & Wellbeing CPD workshop
- PE practical CPD - National curriculum PE
- CPD day in dance
- CPD day in gymnastics

**What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?**

We will support you in your personal development by providing you with the underpinning knowledge, skills and experience for the following:

- Careers within the Sport Coaching industry
- Potential further employment with the employer
- Opportunity for further education
