**Textile Operatives**

This new facility processes worsted spun yarns and is the first wool spinning company to open in the UK for many years. This was a major investment and utilises the latest technology for drawing, spinning, winding & twisting. The facility is situated on New Hey Road, Oakes, Huddersfield, HD3 4BZ.

**Shift patterns / Hours**
- Night Shift (48 hours per week) Monday to Thursday: 18:00 -06:00
- Day Shift (48 hours per week) Monday to Thursday: 06:00 - 18:00
- Weekend Shift (36 hours per week) Friday, Saturday, Sunday: 06:00 - 18:00

**Main Role**:
To operate machinery within the têxtile mill ensuring adherence to health & safety, quality and environmental standards. To succeed in the role, you will be comfortable understanding and following work instructions and procedures.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Load and unload materials where appropriate
- Monitor machines to ensure their smooth and effective operation
- Follow the work procedures for the task / machine, ensuring high quality standards are maintained
- Work in a safe manner reporting any issues to management
- Record key data effectively and accurately
- Communicate effectively with other colleagues and managers during the shift, ensuring any faults are reported promptly
- Keep machinery and work areas clean and tidy at all times
- Contribute towards achieving daily targets
- Any other reasonable duties as requested by your manager

**Personal Skills**:

- This is a physical role, involving regular manual handling; you will be on your feet throughout the shift
- Good observation skills and attention to detail is important
- You will have good organisational skills and be able to prioritise work tasks effectively
- Flexibility will be key as you will need to support and operate across different departments
- You will demonstrate a proactive approach to Health and Safety
- Be willing and able to learn new tasks and develop new skills
- Have good attendance and timekeeping
- Work well as part of a team

**Previous Experience / Qualifications**:

- Previous experience in têxtiles manufacturing; drawing, spinning, winding, twisting and steaming would be advantageous
- Previous experience in other têxtiles processing or in a manufacturing environment would also be beneficial
- There are no specific qualifications required for the role. However, têxtile-focused qualifications are desirable
