We have a vacancy for a Production Supervisor. This is suitable for someone who has gained some experience in industry. The role will suit an ambitious individual who wants to be a senior member of the production team with a responsibility for driving change and improving efficiency. Predominantly, supporting the Production Manager, the daily tasks involve planning support, purchasing, leading improvement projects, supervising key processes. The position is an opportunity to have a broad role with interesting challenges and scope to bring about significant change within the business.

**Key Activities will be**:

- Assist Production Manager in supervising daily operations of organization.
- Support the production planner to maintain the accuracy of the planning system
- Delegate daily tasks and motivate production team.
- Address daily production issues and concerns in a timely fashion.
- Supervise production team to ensure high levels of output, quality control, and in time delivery.
- Educate team on best practices and methods of work.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures in line with continuous improvement.
- Oversee operational cost, risk and audit activities.
- Determine staffing requirements, work assignment and schedules for new projects.
- Perform routine maintenance and repair works for equipment.
- Maintain the facility clean, safe and organized.
- Assist in the daily visual performance measures and collation of reports.

**The successful applicant will have**:
At least 2 years of experience in an operations/production management role where they have assisted in a similar capacity.

Confidence without being arrogant.

- Good planning and organization skills
- Exceptional analytic skills
- Advanced knowledge in using computer programs such as Microsoft Office (In particular Excel) and production related software

- Negotiation skills

**Other attributes**:

- It will be helpful, though not essential, if the applicant has some experience of timber manufacturing.
- A full UK Driving licence is essential.

**Qualifications**:
One of the following or similar qualifications will be useful although not essential.
- Operations Management MSc
- Operations Excellence Degree
- Project Management and Operations Management MSc
- Industrial Engineering and Operations Management MSc
- Supply Chain and Operations Management MSc
- Business Management (Operations and Supply) BSc

**Training**:
We are prepared to give training to the successful applicant but it is essential that they possess a minimum level of experience as per the details in the above job description to be considered for the post.

Other training will be specific to general timber knowledge and manufacturing processes.

**Working Conditions**:
The work of a Production Supervisor can involve irregular hours, even during weekends or holidays. Some of the time Supervisors need to extend their working hours, especially when meeting deadlines. This job does not involve travelling, but the working environment can be stressful at times.

**Salary**: From £28,400.00 per year
