JOB DESCRIPTION: PLANT YARD PERSON

Job Title: Yard Person

Reporting to: Depot Manager

Working Hours: Monday - Friday

8am - 4.30pm

½ hour unpaid lunch

**Salary**: £10.18 - £11.50 per hour depending on experience

+ overtime

Location: Okehampton

Purpose:
Primary Responsibilities:
As part of your duties you will be required to fulfil the following duties:

- Preparing and cleaning machines ready for hire.
- Inspecting the machines before hire to ensure the highest quality of service is met.

You will be required to work on items listed below:

- Excavators 1.5T to 50T
- Wheeled Excavator
- Specialist Long Reach Excavators
- Dumpers and Dump Trucks
- Rollers
- Telehandlers
- Various attachments such as breakers, grabs, shears.

General yard duties to include maintenance of Depot and compliance with internal procedure.

Skills/Qualifications:

- Previous experience of working with heavy construction plant and equipment
- Ability to investigate/diagnose technical faults
- Work to high standards, with an attention to detail.
- Ability to build good working relationships with depot personnel and customers.
- Full driving license
