- Job description- Variety sits at the heart of this role. We're looking for someone who can manage a wide range of engagement projects, providing excellent customer service to internal and external partners.
As a member of the engagement team, you'll be:

- providing guidance and support to develop engagement plans or delivering engagement on behalf of the project team
- writing content from correspondence to project briefings, presentations and FAQs
- designing, facilitating or attending workshops/events to protect and enhance our reputation.

You'll be liaising with, and supporting colleagues to engage with, partners and stakeholders, government bodies, local councils, businesses, and communities. The aim of which is to build working relationships with others, so that we can tackle issues that negatively impacts the environment, people, and wildlife.
Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You'll be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment. Full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.
You'll:

- Work closely with colleagues across East Anglia and the organisation to support them to prepare and deliver multiple engagement strategies to a varied audience.
- Work with others to advise and guide the development of their engagement approach and the tools they use, the customer service they provide and how they proactively plan and deliver effective engagement.
- Ensure that the Environment Agency’s values are central to your working methods, and that you can draw on your understanding of legal and organisational best practices.

This is a full-time permanent role, with the possibility of an additional fixed term position until 12th August 2024. Alternative working patterns will be considered.
The team- We are a small, busy team of talented professionals working collaboratively to deliver excellent service for our customers and partners across East Anglia.
The team plays an important role in managing relationships that are essential to our reputation and business delivery; and in providing support, guidance, and training to other teams.
We aim to continuously improve how we do things, train others and identify ways to enhance the service we deliver.
- Experience/skills required- We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about exceptional customer service and has exceptional communication skills. You will need to have the confidence to use your initiative and adaptability when managing the needs of various internal and external stakeholders, and build strong relationships when working collaboratively or within a team.
Experience/skills:

- Be confident and experienced in proactive stakeholder management and engagement.
- Good written and verbal skills; able to interpret complex key messages for non-technical audiences.
- Able to build effective relationships internally and externally with a range of partners and stakeholders to help deliver a great service.
- Aspire to be a good mentor and coach to other practitioners.
- Organised, self-motivated and capable of prioritising a busy and varied workload effectively.
- Flexible and adaptable with positive attitude and willing to contribute to a diverse and inclusive work culture
- Good understanding of Microsoft Office Suite

The team is based in Ipswich and Brampton (Huntingdon) Offices. We are currently working on a hybrid basis, which is based on home-working or within the office, depending on business needs and preferences.
