**Treelands Care Home - Handsale Ltd**

Situated in Oldham this purpose-built 80-bed care home offers residential and nursing care for the frail, elderly and mentally infirm, in addition to respite and convalescent care. We care for people those with Dementia, Mental Health Condition, Old Age, Physical Disability, Sensory Impairment, and Younger Adults.
**Responsibilities**

We are looking for a friendly, driven and experienced individual to join our care home.

**Responsibilities**:

- To carry out day to day maintenance of the building, its services and grounds in order to ensure that the Care Centre is maintained in a safe and efficient functional order.
- General Maintenance, to cut grass and ground coverings, and prune trees, bushes and other plants, ensuring the surrounding grounds look presentable in all seasons.
- Responsibility for all maintenance, fire and health and safety checks as advised by the Home Manager.
- Maintain a “Maintenance Book” in which defects are recorded by Staff Members. Use this book to effect repairs/replacements daily.
- Maintain decoration of the home as and when required ensuring home is kept to presentable standards
- Report immediately to the Home Manager, or Person in Charge, any illness of an infectious nature or accident incurred by a Client, colleague, self or another.
- Maintain / secure any vehicle in use at the Care Centre and undertake driving duties if required.
- Ensure all equipment used is clean and well maintained.
- Be ‘on-call’ for advice / action in any emergencies which may arise out of hours.

**Qualifications and Skills**

Required:

- General maintenance knowledge / experience e.g. minor electrical, plumbing, joinery work etc
- Good communication skills
- Confident team player
- Clean driving license
- Use of a car or similar vehicle
- Willingness to receive training on current Health & Safety / EHO issues
- Satisfactory Enhanced DBS Check

Desired:

- Understanding of central heating systems, laundry equipment and hot & cold-water systems
- Knowledge of current Health & Safety regulations
