Age UK North Tyneside have been working in prisons for over 5 years to support older prisoners and to improve the range of services and support available to them.

We now have an exciting opportunity to further develop the support we provide to older people in prisons across the North East and we are looking to employ 3 new members of staff.

**PURPOSE**

These 3 new positions will each consist of 4 days/29 hours per week roles and will support the co-ordination, development and delivery of Age UK North Tyneside’s work with older prisoners within HMP prisons across the North East of England region.

Each officer will cover prisons in one of three areas**:Stockton, or Durham, or Northumberland and Durham**. The Officers will deliver 3 activity/social sessions per week in each prison in their area which will include preparation and liaison work within the prisons with internal and external organisations.

**REQUIREMENTS**
- Experience of developing and delivering groups and activities
- Experience of developing new initiatives/projects
- A demonstrable understanding of the Criminal Justice sector
- Experience of working with a wide range of stakeholders across the public, private and voluntary sectors
- Community development experience working with targeted community groups
- Flexibility to provide cover in other areas across the region if needed and some early evening work if required.
- A full current driving licence and access to a car
