Category Buyer

_**Vanrath**_ are delighted to be assisting in seeking an experienced Category Buyer within the Energy Management Solutions Business Unit, based at the Portadown.
- Manage and develop existing suppliers in defined spend areas and be actively involved in supplier negotiations.
- Identify and deliver year on year cost down opportunities within the defined category, ensuring best value for money at all times.
- Work closely with the Operations Department to ensure optimum quality, prices and delivery for defined parts to support minimising inventory.
- Actively represent procurement on cross functional project teams, such as improvement projects and NPI.
- Deliver an optimal supply chain that provides product to the business at the required level of quality, price and terms.
- Identify, control and manage risk within defined categories to ensure any risk has been mitigated and ensure full compliance to Group standards
- Responsible for sourcing and introduction of new components and suppliers in line with company procedures.

Essential Criteria:

- 3-5 years successful experience in a similar role and level within a manufacturing environment, with knowledge and experience of working with an ERP system
- Experience in leading and carrying out tenders/ RFQs
- Experience of introducing new suppliers/ components
- Commodity management experience
- Experience of implementing inventory strategies
- Advanced working knowledge and experience of Excel (pivot tables & V lookups etc)
- Able to travel as required - full, unendorsed Driving Licence
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise own workload. Developed problem solving skills, including the ability to manage conflicting work demands.

**Salary**: £32,647.17-£35,042.60 per year
