Working 37.5 hours a week, you will support the provision of psychology services in a specified area, in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and under the direction and supervision of a Regional Lead Psychologist.

As a Trainee Psychologist, you will have experience and knowledge in carrying a service user’s caseload, assessing complex needs and designing and delivering specialist psychological treatments to support their care plans.

There is a strong emphasis on teamwork with regular supervision and CPD opportunities available to support you in reaching your career aspirations.

**Your responsibilities will include**:

- Participate fully with the multidisciplinary team and ensure that service users are fully engaged in their care pathway.
- Support clinical team working (both direct interventions and the delivery of staff training programmes).
- Support the clinical team and area of service in developing new initiatives and ways of working.
- Work with internal and external agencies to enhance treatment pathways for service users.
- Provide psychological assessments of service users based upon the appropriate use, interpretation and integration of complex data from a variety of sources including psychological (and neuropsychological) tests, self-report measures, rating scales direct and indirect structured observations and semi-structured interviews with clients, family members and others involved in the patient’s care.
- Formulate plans for the formal psychological treatment and/or management of a patient’s mental health problems based upon an appropriate conceptual framework of the patient’s problems, and employing methods based upon evidence of efficacy, across the full range of care settings.
- Implement a range of psychological interventions for individuals within and across teams employed individually and in synthesis, adjusting and refining psychological formulations drawing upon different explanatory models.
- Develop and manage groupwork programmes and innovative therapeutic approaches, ensuring that appropriate outcome measures are in place.
- Ensure that Psychology practices maintains the highest standards of professional practice and ethics, complying with clinical governance standards at all times.

**To be successful in this role, you'll need**:

- BPS recognised accredited psychology degree
- HCPC Registration
- Understanding of evidence-based psychological practice

**Site Information**:
Join the team at Tŷ Glyn Ebwy in providing care and treatment for women who have an eating disorder including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa and atypical eating disorders. The approach is to restore a healthy body weight and food intake and address psychological problems during treatment.

The multidisciplinary team uses a range of skills and approaches to encourage and empower individuals to engage with treatment and support individuals to re-establish eating and maintain a healthy weight before a successful and sustainable discharge home.
