The Cleaning Supervisor will support the delivery of site cleaning to the agreed specifications and standards within health and safety guidelines, policies and procedures. The main aim of the role will be to supervise a team of cleaning staff, undertake daily inspections of the centre and ensuring staff are working productively, safely and efficiently.

To lead and supervise the Housekeeping, Food Court, and Recycling teams on a daily basis.

To support Line Manager with recruitment and retraining staff to deliver quality service in an efficient and effective manner.

To ensure that the continuous improvement process is an integral part of service delivery.

To provide your Line Manager with a formal report capturing operational, financial and staffing issues on a monthly basis

Completion of all required monthly reporting systems to include inspection reports, incident reports and staff performance.

Take ownership of the staff rota and ensure all shifts are allocated. When not possible to cover all shifts, liaise as required with cleaning agency company.

Daily monitoring of the cleanliness standards within the centre and to ensure the team reactively respond to any allocated tasks/duties.

To support with any OCS sub-contractor works that need to be arranged and ensure the works take place compliantly, safely and to the correct specifications.

To order and monitor stock of site cleaning consumables.

Always consider the work undertaken and wherever opportunities for improvements and working practices exist, put forward suggestions so that “continuous improvement” is the norm.

Maximize recycling opportunities by working closely with the other cleaning Supervisor(s) and Operatives to ensure all recycling opportunities are explored.

To maintain excellent relationships with our client, suppliers and customers; maintaining excellent customer service.

Work collaboratively with other Supervisor(s) and your Line Manager.

Deputise for Line Manager when required.

Undertake any other reasonable duties as required to meet the needs of the business.

Communicate regularly with colleagues through formal and informal channels on safety matters to ensure that there is a free flow of ideas and that morale remains high.

Ensure that all COSHH RA’s and safety data sheets are compliant and up to date.

Ensure that the OCS safety image is reflected positively through your actions and those of your colleagues.

Ensure that personal H&S competence and skill level is maintained i.e. attended Managing Safety programme and other Company safety events.

Take responsibility for ensuring that plant and equipment is maintained and fit for purpose.

Ensure that work activities are properly managed and supervised.

Ensure the team complete regular training for e.g. TBT’s, refresher training for equipment etc.

Ensure the team training matrix is up to date and that all staff have the required training for their duties.
