Can you spare 3.5 hours a week?

Are you keen to help support our staff at Kettering General Hospital and work as part of a team?

Our care café is a dedicated space for our staff to get a drink, take time out to reflect and chat amongst colleagues. As a volunteer supporting this service you will play a vital role in running a smooth and effective service that makes a significant difference to our colleagues.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of an amazing team and meet new people. No experience required, all training will be provided.

Our volunteers are invaluable part of the hospital team. Working with us in a volunteering role means you're playing a part in delivering support to our patients and their families, whether you're providing admin support in an office, working alongside our ward teams or supporting other areas within the Hospital

The role is supporting staff in our ‘care café’ a dedicated space for all staff to take time out to reflect, enjoy a hot drink and chat amongst colleagues

You will
- Meet and Greet staff
- Supporting staff with getting a refreshment
- Providing guidance or signposting to support services if required
- Help maintain a clean and inviting area for staff
- Supporting the #brewbuddy volunteers
- Be available to talk to colleagues
- Support with wellbeing sessions (for example PAT dog sessions)
- Support random acts of kindness to staff (delivering items)

Volunteers are required to adopt a flexible approach to meet the needs of service requirements.

You will
- Meet and Greet staff
- Supporting staff with getting a refreshment
- Providing guidance or signposting to support services if required
- Help maintain a clean and inviting area for staff
- Supporting the #brewbuddy volunteers
- Be available to talk to colleagues
- Support with wellbeing sessions (for example PAT dog sessions)
- Support random acts of kindness to staff (delivering items)
- Actively looking for anyone who may be lost across the hospital and may need help.
- Providing a courtesy service - ‘meet and greet’ around external premises.
- Ensuring that information racks and notice boards are tidy.
- Acting as a ‘buddy’ for new volunteers.
- Record stock and request replenishment, record drinks made.
- Clean the Care Café area as required wiping down tables etc, cleaning the coffee machine as instructed and report any maintenance / break down issues promptly.
- In appropriate weather set up and take down the external café furniture.
