**QA Technician**

Responsible for complying, implementing, and auditing against our Quality Management System (QMS), involving product safety, legality, and quality systems.You will have overall responsibility for the management of quality checks from raw material to finished product. **Key elements of the role**:

- Complying, implementing, and auditing against our Quality Management System (QMS), involving product safety, legality, and quality systems.
- Management of quality checks from raw material to finished product.
- Implementation and auditing/inspection of QMS, good manufacturing practices, good hygienic practices, and HACCP in the business.
- Assessing product starting from raw material to finished product for safety, legality, and quality against raw material and customer specification.
- Communicate any issues to the production managers, QA supervisor and/or site technical manager promptly.
- Highlighting any out of spec occurrences, investigate, document and report to the QA supervisor/site technical manager.
- Raising and effectively managing non-conformances, ensuring root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions are completed promptly.
- Complete and report to the business trend analysis for all the audits / inspections, product assessments, non-conformances and KPIs.
- Collecting pesticide and microbiological samples and swabs as per the schedule and sending them to the respective labs.
- Liaising with the production team daily to ensure all safety, legality and quality checks are performed.
- Support production team with raw material selection online assessments.
- Complete all QMS checks against BRC standard requirements (including HACCP).
- Assist in the investigation of customer complaints or non
- conformances.
- Assist in the preparation & collection of samples for benchmarking, factory trials and NPD trials. Complete shelf
- life assessments, microbiological and pesticide testing as requested.
- Complete both backward and forward traceability exercises including mass balance as per the schedule and as and when required by the business.
- Maintaining calibration of probes, scales and checkweighers used on-site and regular testing where applicable.
- Testing chemical strengths to ensure the right concentration of chemicals are used on site.
- Support business in the development and implementation of the quality improvement plan.
- Checking, filing, and archiving documents related to HACCP, product safety, legality, and quality.
- Assist site technical manager to ensure that SAP and associated databases information is updated with specification changes, in a timely manner.
- Support technical managers during audits and customer visits.
- Support operations, supply chain, engineering, and logistics departments in implementing QMS and problem-solving.

**Looking for someone**:

- Proficient level of written and verbal English
- Computer literate
- Great attention to detail.
- Able to work independently as well as in a team.
- Make decisions confidently
- Effective time management
- Good problem-solving skills
- Valid UK Drivers Licence would be beneficial
- Experience in QA is ideal, however not essential

**Salary**:

- £24,000 - £26,000

**Hours**:

- 42 hours per week, 5 on 2 off shift pattern
