**Position**:Buyer

**Salary**: £37,000 per annum

**Hours**:41 hours per week

Mon - Thurs 8:00-17:00 and Friday 8:00 - 15:30

**What you'll be doing**
- The post holder is typically responsible for providing Material Procurement to the Site Managers both Newbuild and Regeneration and Reporting to the Head of Commercial.
- You will be required to work flexibly, ensuring that all the most cost effective solutions are sought, procured and delivered to site to meet programme needs.
- As a point of contact they should always present a professional attitude and seek to deal with any issue as swiftly as possible.

**What you’ll need to be a success**

**Qualifications**:

- 3 A Levels or Construction related qualification.
- BSC in a Construction Related Topic (or working towards).

**Desirable**:

- Professional Qualifications and/or Institute Membership.
- A suitable and recognised qualification in purchasing.
- Various procurement courses / training.

**Experience**:

- 5 years’ experience working in the construction industry.
- A knowledge of European Procurement Rules.
- Category Planning and Implementation.
- Procurement systems and processes.
- Effective Negotiation and influencing.
- Market benchmarking and tendering (inc. Social Profit).
- Waste and stock management (including stores, vans and sites).
