Technical Lead

**Your profile**:
**Responsibilities**:

- Provide strategic and technical leadership and expertise within the OSC team;
- Identifying and securing new business opportunities & supporting team with tender and proposal preparation;
- Client liaison and stakeholder management;
- System design, development, sensor integration, and testing;
- Planning and execution of field work;
- Equipment preparation, servicing, and maintenance, as well as installation and operation for offshore projects;
- Technical, financial, and contractual management to OSC & client requirements;
- line management of junior staff.

**Required**:

- A higher degree in engineering (e.g. MSc or PhD), or relevant experience with marine instrumentation;
- At least 5 years previous technical experience and 3 years project management experience;
- Experience with instrumentation (_e.g. _echosounder, radar, ADCP, hydrophone, etc.) including configuration, operation, maintenance, data downloading, processing, and reporting;
- Understanding of equipment specifications (_e.g._ hydrophones, junction boxes, amplifiers, acoustic filters, _etc._);
- Experience working with wind, tidal, military, and/or O&G sectors;
- Prior project management and financial management experience;
- Able to work on own initiative and prioritise effectively, achieving results against deadlines;
- Previous experience writing successful tenders or grant proposals;
- Willingness to travel;
- Genuine interest about the business and industry, including commercial awareness;
- Ability to lift 20 kg;
- Full, clean UK drivers licence; and,
- Must be legally allowed to work in the UK prior to employment, and possess a UK bank account.

**Desirable**:

- Processing oceanographic datasets (CTD, synoptic satellite-derived or modelled data);
- Programming experience in R, Python, or MatLab.
