**About the Role**

As a Sunday Supervisor at Mind Retail, you’ll work alongside the Shop Manager to deliver sales & profit targets to generate income for our charity. You’ll support the Shop Manager by leading and developing a diverse shop team, demonstrating at all times Mind Retail’s Values of: Open, Unstoppable, Responsive, Together & Independent.

You’ll be passionate about delivering the highest level of shop standards and exceeding customer expectations by providing excellent service and a fantastic shopping experience.

**Key Tasks and Responsibilities**

To assist the manager in the following and to have full responsibility when the manager is not there, including but not limited to:
**Operations**
- To ensure that all sales targets and results are communicated and that all staff and volunteers are aware of, understand and are working to meet and exceed the agreed targets
- Ensures maximum stock availability through effective stock control and shop replenishment, adhering to Mind Retail’s merchandising guidelines
- Continually reviews the rotation, quality and replenishment of stock in order to maximise sales
- Achieves the optimum price point for all stock items and promotional merchandise for seasoned and windowed themes, following the principles outlined in Mind Retail’s Pricing Guide
- Provides direction and support to shop staff to actively promote Gift Aid in order to maximise contributions from donations
- Identifies local market and business development opportunities for performance improvement
- Makes commercial decisions to drive profitability of the shop
- Presents and maintains the highest standards of shop merchandising and visual layout
- Proactively recruits for volunteers, effectively plans volunteer cover and trains in areas related to business needs to realise their full sales potential and contribution to the shop performance
- Prepares and completes all shop administration inclusive of cash handling and banking functions to the highest standard, accurately and on time, always adhering to Company Policies and Procedures
- Ensures all Security, Health and Safety policies and procedures are adhered to in order to provide a safe and secure shop environment for staff, volunteers, customers and company assets. Provides regular and relevant training for staff and volunteers in Health and Safety and maintains legal compliance at all times
- Plans and organises daily workload throughout the shop in a way that ensures efficient customer service and a profitable operation
- Ensures all company policies, shop standards and operating procedures are communicated effectively to shop staff and maintained and followed through in a consistent manner

**Financial**
- Supports the Shop Manager in managing the profit & loss of a Mind shop
- Monitors and controls variable costs e.g. petty cash in accordance with the set targets to maximise the profitability of the shop

**People & Customer**
- Provides regular performance feedback, trains and develops the shop team in customer service standards, operating standards and retailing skills
- Actively participates in two way communication sharing and exchanging relevant and appropriate information with the shop manager Regional Manager and Head Office personnel

- The ability to plan and prioritise workloads and delegate accordingly and work under pressure
- Strong customer focus
- Knowledge and understanding of budget management, profit & loss

**Desirable**
- Understanding of Charity Retail
- A desire to work as part of a team to generate fresh and innovative ideas.
