**HOURS**
- Thursday, Friday, 9am to 3pm to work alongside the team.
- Saturday, Sunday. 10am to 2pm work alone doing communal arears and where possible high rooms.

**ROLE PURPOSE**

20hrs

To provide a customer focused cleaning & housekeeper service to the portfolio of buildings occupied by The Solace Community.

To be responsible for the day-to-day cleaning of all communal areas including office spaces, meeting rooms, reception areas, hallways, kitchen areas and toilets.

The post holder will work as part of a team (and alone once your DBS is approved) The role will be to help maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene within our buildings. These buildings are occupied by vulnerable adults with mental healt and addiction issu,es.

**Key Duties**

Note: this is not an all-inclusive list. Additional duties may be assigned as required.

The following tasks must be completed on a timescale agreed with the Project Manager and will be reviewed regularly and if necessary, amended from time-to-time.

**Floors/Stairs**
- Vacuum, sweep, mop floors using vacuum cleaner, broom, and mop

**Toilets**
- Clean and disinfect sinks, countertops, toilets, mirrors, floors etc. Replenish toilet supplies.

**Reception Areas**
- Dust furniture, equipment, tables, chairs etc.
- Vacuum and mop floors
- Wipe down walls and woodwork as required.
- Clean internal windows, door panels and partitions.

**Offices/Meeting Rooms**
- Empty desk bins
- Clean desks
- Vacuum floors
- Ensure meeting area is tidy following meetings

**Tenant Communal Areas**
- Motivate and assist tenants to maintain areas
- Vacuum and mop floors weekly

**Stock Control**
- Conduct a weekly stock check to ensure adequate stocks of cleaning materials - liaising with the Project Manager to ensure orders are placed.
- Maintain all cleaning equipment - liaising with the Project Manager on any repair or replacement issues.
- Ensure the safe and secure use and storage of all cleaning items - adhering to COSHH regulations.

**Health & Safety**
- Responsible for the secure storage, maintenance and safe use of all cleaning equipment and materials.
- To monitor work areas to ensure safety of self and others.
- To follow health and safety policy and procedures.
- To report and alert others to health and safety risks and challenge others who put themselves at risk.
- To record and report all accidents and significant incidents.

**Communication**
- To liaise, as required, with tenants regarding works.
- Maintain good day to day contact and communication with other departments & staff.
- Provide an exceptional customer focus towards both prospective and existing tenants.

- To undertake such other tasks as may be reasonably requested by the post holders’ direct manger.

**Cleaner - Person Specification**

**Work Experience/Skills/Knowledge**
- Knowledge and understanding of the aims of The Solace Community
- Vocational courses in Basic Health & Safety, COSHH, Food Hygiene etc or equivalent experience
- Previous experience working in a Supported Housing Service.
- High attention to detail and cleaning to a high standard
- Ability to work effectively with a wide range of people
- Effective contributor to a team
- Ability to work with minimum supervision and as part of a team
- Self-motivated
- Ability to deal with demanding situations
