An excellent opportunity has arisen within the Ayrshire and Arran Midwifery Service for an innovative, enthusiastic, flexible registered midwife, who wishes the opportunity to utilise their full range of skills in a remote and rural environment. This role requires a midwife with excellent communication skills and a desire to support women and their families throughout their whole pregnancy journey. You will be based at our Birthing Unit within Arran War Memorial Hospital in Lamlash.

You will be able to provide a full range of evidence based; health, education and social care advice in keeping with current drivers. Flexibility is an essential component to this post and you will cover a range of dayshifts and on call for Island Birth you must work well within a team and be prepared to be flexible. You must be confident to triage, manage and effectively transfer women in an emergency situation.

The service is proactive in supporting local birth and you should be keen to promote this service. In return you will have the pleasure of deriving great job satisfaction from being able to work autonomously throughout the whole pathway of the woman and families care within Best Start Recommendations.

**Hours**: 15 per week

A full current driving licence essential.
