**Salary: **£40,000 to £55,000 per annum
**Role Overview:
**my client, a large UK owned but international based engineering company are seeking a **Senior Mechanical Design Engineer**to further support its team of engineers in enhancing & developing its world class range of products.
The role is offering**hybridworking** once established within the team and product range but would expect site support for meetings and conferences etc....
As a **Senior MechanicalDesign Engineer** you will be responsible for the definition, design, verification and validation of products and technical solutions. This includes responsibility for the delivery of safe and legally compliant productdesigns to our market and customer requirements.
**Your objectives and responsibilities will focus on
**The successful **Senior MechanicalDesign Engineer**will provide technical leadership in engineering best practices and in support of finding solutions within projects. The role is responsible for the quality of the design, technicaldocumentation, compliance, and validation requirements. You will provide guidance and supervision to less experienced team members and may have the opportunity to take on direct technical leadership responsibility dependant on project requirements.
You will have the opportunity to participate in the full product life cycle utilising both traditional and agile methods. Starting from concept design and development, through validation, product range design, introduction to manufacturing, quality investigationsand technical support for the existing product range.
**Your previous experience is likely to include.**:

- You will have substantial experience in chairing technical reviews or assessments (e.g. risk assessments, DFMEAs, design reviews.)
- You will have substantial experience in reviewing and approving technical documentation. (e.g. specifications, drawings, calculations, technical report from tests or simulation.)

**To be successful in this role you will**:

- Demonstrate skills in undertaking mathematical examination and CAD / FEA based simulation methods in at least one of the following fields.- Structural analysis.
- Thermdynamics
- Vibratin
- Fluid dynamics.
- Be a good communicator and a team player.
- Demonstrate an open and growth mind set.
- Have a clear structured and analytical approach to problem solving. (e.g. DMAIC / 8D preferred)
- Have experience leading technically challenging projects independently.
- Show a proficient manner and have strong leadership, project, and people management skills.
Demonstrate experience in delivering products compliant with pressure or machinery directive evidenced by conformity with harmonised standards.
