Team Objectives
1. Empower colleagues to develop their “think family” skills supporting children, young people and adults and preventing abuse
2. Deliver a seamless “think family” safeguarding service that provides high quality support to colleagues, partners, patients and carers.
3. Increase awareness and understanding of the safeguarding service and the support available to colleagues, partners, patients and carers
4. Develop a safeguarding service with robust and effective policies and procedures innovating practice
5. To amplify colleagues skills and manage pathways to meet the needs of adults and children with complex needs
The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of a high-quality Domestic abuse service providing professional advice, support and education to the multi-professional team, patient and carers with their specialist service by recognising, prioritising and responding appropriately to urgent safeguarding priorities, with guidance and support of the head of safeguarding and the Named Nurse safeguarding adults
You will form part of the integrated safeguarding team working closely with a range of practitioners who cover Adult safeguarding, Midwifery, Children and young people safeguarding, Domestic abuse, Learning disabilities and autism, dementia, managing complex behaviours and high impact users.

You will be a registered health care professional, either HCPC or NMC with three years post registration experience.
As an experienced professional the post holder will provide effective Domestic abuse activity by providing professional leadership and Domestic abuse guidance, to ensure compliance with Domestic abuse Act 2021, Care Act 2014, MCA 2005 and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards 2009, and local Safeguarding Board procedures and safeguarding partnership procedures
This role will convey and present highly complex and sensitive information written and verbal, formally and informally as appropriate. Ensuring that applicable information is maintained and kept in an appropriate place. this will include attending MARAC
Working in conjunction with the NNSA, this role supports a Trust wide safeguarding education strategy, audit plan and communication plan, ensuring standards are monitored and the golden thread of MCA and making safeguarding personal is being consistently applied.
You will need to be able to support the development and implementation of Domestic abuse practice across the Trust, ensuring effective multi-agency liaison and education on Domestic Abuse
You will be an advocate for patients who lack capacity ensuring their voice is heard across the organisation.
