Our Family support worker will provide service users, carers, parents and other family units with living support and resources. Through workshops and events coach families, helping them develop emotional and physical self-care and stress-coping techniques to help improve living situations. Our family support work will be required to provide a variety of services to help carers and families with additional support needs to overcome obstacles and resolve issues which may include assisting individuals fill out paperwork, access services, learn life skills while providing support and sharing life experiences among other tasks such as:
**Build rapport**: Create and develop relationships with our service users and families to help them feel comfortable and safe around you. This includes sharing experiences openly, communicating effectively and expressing empathy for a client's specific needs.

**Help service users access relevant services**: Take the lead in helping service users find third-party assistance programs such as childcare, money management, housekeeping and personal hygiene care.

**Support service users**: Depending on the situation, provide counselling, support and guidance, empowering the service user to overcome the difficulties they may be facing.

**Provide resources**: Source and locate external resources for our service users, including planning groups, workshops etc to help service users and families to access the resources they may need.

Main tasks of the role
- To work within a team environment to help organise, facilitate and lead a range of group activities.
- To ensure that Nourish’s resources and equipment are properly maintained and fit for

purpose.
- To work within a team to set up and clear away for sessions or reset activities during the sessions.
- To engage all in a friendly, enthusiastic and motivated way.

**Job Type**: Temporary contract
Contract length: 8 -10 weeks

Pay: £12.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 - 20 per week
