SHW is an independent property real estate advisory business which specialises in many aspects of commercial and residential property.

Job Purpose:
To provide professional Town Planning services to the Building Consultancy and Development Consultancy teams and external clients.
To promote Town Planning services to all SHW regions and build internal and external client base.

Key Responsibilities:
Professional Work
2. To research fully and record on the file relevant comparable transactions relating to each instruction and to take inspection notes, read and summarise Planning Policies appropriate to the individual property as applicable.
3. To ensure that all reports are in an agreed SHW format.
4. To ensure that all Client’s approval is received prior to making any Planning Application or Appeal and that those references are diligently and professionally prepared and submitted in accordance with the Planning Authorities.

Client Management
5. To ensure that the fee basis is agreed with the Client prior to commencing work on an instruction and that (where applicable) standard terms and conditions are provided to the Client at that time.
6. To keep the Client regularly updated on the progress on their instructions.
7. To submit fee accounts as soon as any instruction has been completed on the agreed basis.
8. To ensure that all potential instructions from each Client are identified and pursued by the relevant SHW contact.
9. To ensure that when no active instructions are being undertaken for a Client that periodic contact is maintained with that Client, either by yourself or another SHW contact.
10. Manage and forecast fee income and ensure liaison with clients through to obtaining payment of invoices issued.

New Business
11. To promote the Company’s general interests.
12. To identify and pursue opportunities for new business both from existing and potential new Clients.
13. To develop and maintain contacts in the local business community who might lead to new business opportunities.
14. To liaise with agency and other colleagues throughout SHW to develop new business opportunities.

Administration
15. To ensure that all staff within your office comply with the requirements of their individual job descriptions.
16. To monitor the costs of your department and ensure that they are within the approved budget figures except as otherwise appointed.
17. To ensure adequate cover during periods of holiday, sickness etc.
18. To ensure that all filing, comparable evidence, and other records are maintained in accordance with the agreed procedures.
19. To ensure that all correspondence is dealt with expeditiously.
20. To ensure that instructions are logged as soon as received.
21. To ensure that all outstanding invoices are being actively pursed and followed up by Planner.
22. Update team spreadsheet and forecast income throughout year

Training
23. To comply with the RTPI Continuing Professional Development requirements.
24. To ensure that you are up-to-date with professional matters / legislation.

Generally
25. To manage Graduates with support from Head of Division and Divisional Administrator.
26. To comply with all QA procedures.
27. To comply with all relevant RICS RTPI standards and byelaws.
28. To maintain strict confidentiality in all matters concerning the Company and its Clients.
29. To observe the requirements of the Company’s Procedure Manual.
30. To carry out any other duties Management may require from time to time

Person Specification:

- Experience of Planning Policy, Application and Development Control.
- RTPI qualified.
- Up-to-date knowledge of planning law.
- Ability to generate business and assist in development of planning team.
- Remain approachable to all members of staff to assist queries raised in dealing with
- instructions or business related matters

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £45,000.00-£60,000.00 per year
