You will be jointly responsible for transporting deceased people from local mortuaries to our Stoke-on-Trent site. You will work closely with our Service Team to ensure a timely and smooth transfer of the deceased between the resting mortuary and our facility.

**This is a part time position and you will be required to be at The Royal Hospital, Derby for 8am, Parking at the Hospital is available and will be fully paid for**

**Responsibilities**

To collect and transport the deceased from mortuaries and transfer to Digital Autopsy site locations.
- Work closely with the Service Team to ensure transfers are undertaken to the appropriate location in a timely manner.
- Assist staff and mortuary staff with handling and moving of the deceased.
- Conduct oneself with pride and be mindful of ensuring the dignity of the deceased.
- Ensure a smart well turned out appearance at all times.
- Drive private ambulance to the standards required, maintain the cleanliness both externally and internally of the vehicles and re-fuel in line with operational policies.
- Ensure vehicles are driven at the correct speed limits in accordance with the law.
- Assist with administration work when required.
- Carry out other level-appropriate tasks as may be required.
- Full Driving Licence
- Physically fit and smart in appearance
- Experience in handling the deceased is preferred
- You must have a sympathetic and empathetic approach to the work

**Job Type**: Part-time

Part-time hours: 20 per week

**Salary**: £10.42 per hour

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday

- Derby: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
