**Trainee/Apprentice Civil Engineering Operatives**

**You must be**:

- Over 18 for insurance purposes (17 with a licence and car may be considered)
- Driver or able to be in Lockerbie for 7.15 every morning
- Dedicated and hard working
- Happy to work in all weathers
- Willing to work away from home on occasion
- Keen to learn and progress within the industry
- Able to take direction and use your own initiative

As a trainee Civil Engineering Operative the duties and responsibilities you will learn in the role include, but are not limited to the following;
- concrete works including foundations and floor slabs
- ground preparation for slabs, roads and paths
- deep drainage works including pipe laying and manhole construction
- service trenching and duct laying
- kerbing and slabbing
- landscaping works including installation of modular fencing
- plant and heavy machinery operation
- shuttering and formwork installation
- setting out including a good understanding of line and level

Groundworkers or Civil Engineering Operatives are highly skilled professions. Good operatives have massive earning potential and career progression opportunities. Many go on to specialise in specific areas such as plant operation (many good operators are produced by learning the works on the ground first), drainage, concrete works, paving installation to name a few. Many also progress to supervisory and management roles overseeing large scale civils works through the experience they have gained on the ground.

We are looking to add hardworking, motivated, positive individuals to our growing team. Any applicant must live local to Dumfries & Galloway/Cumbria as no relocation package is offered.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £24,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
