**Job description**:
Border Force check all passengers and freight arriving in the UK by air and sea and conduct intelligence-led searches for prohibited, counterfeit or restricted goods such as drugs, firearms, weapons, cash, tobacco, and alcohol. We also support the department’s wider agenda in high-profile areas such as counter terrorism, tackling organised crime, modern slavery, and human trafficking. This is some of the most important and challenging work in Government and its impact can be felt in communities across the UK.

**Manston Operations Estates Officer**

Estates Management posts is a new team who will be working in a highly ambiguous and evolving environment given the fluidity of Manston operations, and other factors. Keeping the Manston site safe and secure is a key priority in supporting the welfare, health and well-being of residents and colleagues. Developing Manston estates capacity is a key feature of the role ensuring holding/residential facilities meet business requirements.

This is a cross cutting role with high levels of partnership engagement expected with internal and external stakeholders including contractors who provide services at Manston.

The work of the Manston Operations Command includes:

- Building capacity at Manston facilities, and ensuring the site is properly maintained, and fit for (current and future) usage.
- Working across the borders and immigration systems to support the UK Returns campaign including special operations and the Migration and Economic Development Partnership and other strategic priorities.

This is a full-time role due to business needs.

**Person specification**:
As a Manston Estates Officer you will be required to:

- Record and escalate estate failures, identifying specific problems and seeking solutions.
- Support the estate manager in providing clear requirements for building and improvement work.
- Support the maintaining of business continuity plans and infrastructure risk assessments.
