Acorn Recruitment is looking for Domestic and Catering Assistants to work within the Cwm Taf Health Board Hospital in the Bridgend area.
Pay:

- Weekdays 9.50 - £9.65 per hour
- Saturdays and night £13.40 -£13.61 per hour
- Sunday and bank holidays £17.39 - £17.66 per hour
- Enhancements paid for unsociable hours and weekend work

Role responsibilities:

- Check ward provision stock levels, order in line with set procedure including minimum/ maximum stock levels and verify quantities on receipt of delivery
- Ensure that food is received, stored and stock rotated in line with departmental procedures and Food Hygiene Legislation
- Manoeuvre catering equipment and provisions to/from associated areas
- Receive instruction from the Ward Manager or Deputy on patient dietary and cultural needs, including snacks and to provide those items at the required time
- Inform patients of each meal's menu choice and take and record individual choices using the designated hard copy forms/computer software to record the information
- Pick each mealtime requirements at the prearranged time from the designated temperature controlled picking room in the Central Production Unit, as appropriate
- Load regeneration trolley(s) in a timely manner as laid down in departmental guidelines
- Regenerate cook chill/cook freeze food items, including special dietary meals in line with Food Hygiene Legislation
- Movement of temperature controlled food trolleys throughout the ward during meal service, plugging in to electrical sockets to maintain required temperatures
- Maintaining the prescribed portion control in the decanting and service of food and beverages
- Monitor and record food waste, providing accurate documented information in line with departmental protocol
- Clear and wash all crockery, cutlery, tumblers etc. using appropriate dish washing machine and cleaning chemicals
- Prepare and serve morning and afternoon beverages to patients at the appropriate times as directed or, as necessary
- Collect, wash, refill and distribute water jugs and tumblers to patient bedside lockers
- Complete of hard copy/and electronic documentation to record Food Services information in accordance with HACCP, Food Hygiene Legislation and Departmental protocols, as and when required
- Resolve/seek guidance daily on routine issues/queries with service provision in associated areas
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout in line with C4C (Credits for Cleaning), Infection Control, and Food Hygiene standards, as per detailed cleaning schedules and safe systems of work. This will be achieved by agreed methods andwill include the use of appropriate cleaning equipment (to include electrical) and cleaning chemicals
- Removal and security of refuse in/to designated areas for disposal
