ROLE PURPOSE

To provide administrative and logístical assistance to Criminal Justice Support and Operations Unit's

ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Monitor custody suite consumables stock levels (including VIPER and Custody Investigation Team (CIT) identifying usage and requirements and taking responsibility for ordering as appropriate to ensure operational demands can be met. Thereafter taking deliveryof all supplies. Ensuring accurate records of all transactions are maintained throughout to provide an audit trail of the devolved budget.
- Proactively deal with any Criminal Justice and Custody related correspondence responding directly if possible and appropriate otherwise distributing to relevant colleagues.
- Assist in the scanning of documents, electronic submission of files to CPS.
- Support Custody Investigation Team (CIT) with the Evidential Drug Identification Test (EDIT) and Property room.
- Monitor the number of HM Immigration detainees identifying associated costs, raising invoices and managing the cost recovery process.
- Provide administrative support to the Custody suites, ensuring an effective and efficient response to policing requirements i.e. issue, record and store pocket notebooks / daybooks, officer uniform and key storage.
- Act as a point of contact for the various duties associated with the estate i.e. reporting of Estates issues, provision of a meet and greet service for visitors on behalf of the Constabulary.
- Administration of lockers throughout the Force.
- Provide resilience for other administrative colleagues within custody suites during periods of leave, sickness or unanticipated workload to maintain the appropriate level of service delivery to customers, partners and the Force

EXPERIENCE
- Educated to Level 2 or equivalent experience.
- RSA Typing/word Processing or equivalent
- Must hold a clean, valid licence
- A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Some previous experience of working in an administrative function
- Some previous experience of working within a customer facing environment

Desirable Experience
- Some previous experience of a criminal justice environment would be a distinct advantage

**Skills**

Essential
- Excellent administration and customer service skills to enable effective representation of the CJ function both internally and externally
- Ability to work with limited supervision and manage time effectively
- Ability to manage conflicting demands, prioritise tasks and work to strict deadlines
- Ability to independently prepare a broad range of standard documentation on behalf of the CJ Support function to minimise the need to pass for colleague involvement in straightforward correspondence
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the CJ teams to maximise the effectiveness of the administration service provided
- Ability to quickly grasp the criminal justice and adapt knowledge to a variety of situations within the day to day operation of the role
- Must be able to pass a relevant PNC course
