**ABOUT THE ROLE**

As the Group Housing Officer, you will report to the Group Head of Housing Management, you will provide leadership and support across a defined patch in regard to all aspects of housing management. You will provide support and advice to staff and be responsible for building effective relationships internally and externally. You will communicate important information with various teams, whilst providing a high quality level of customer service.

**Work Pattern**: Monday to Friday 09:00 - 17:00

**ABOUT YOU**

We are looking for someone with proven experience in all aspects of housing management, preferably within the supported housing sector. You will ideally be confient in forming and managing excellent internal an external relationships, with the ability to communicate effectively and deliver a customer focused service, providing support and advice for your given patch of the organisation. We are looking someone who can work proactively and use their own initiative to resolve any challenges face on.

**OVERVIEW OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Provide support and advice for housing tenancies and licences across your patch in the organisation. This can include advising support staff and residents on all aspects of housing management.
- Provide advice and leadership on breaches of tenancy/licence agreements, nuisance, harassment, and misuse of property.
- Take appropriate legal action when necessary.
- Ensure a professional, customer focused coordination of housing management services in the given patch, support with colleagues when required.
- Manage the housing management system, this includes but is not limited to; setting up new residents, monitoring Housing Benefit and other payments to ensure rent accounts are up to date and assignment of income is correct.
- Arrears Management, ensure that arrears letters and actions are produced and served in line with SIG policy.
- Coordinate quarterly/annual returns to partner housing associations and other partners and organisations.
- Develop new initiatives to ensure effective and timely rent collection and an effective process.
- Build and manage internal and external relationships throughout the organisation, with partners, and other stakeholders.
- Administration duties will vary, including ensuring organisation with all information, creating regular reports, managing the systems, and following confidentiality.

Other responsibilities than those described above may be required to be undertaken from time to time and will be expected to be performed to as long as it is within the capability and level of the position.

**KEY CRITERIA**

What we are looking for:

- Proven experience in housing management, including arrears processing, rent collection and Health and Safety
- Proven experience of collaborative working across different geographically dispersed teams
- IT Proficiency, with the ability to navigate and learn systems and other types of software
- Ability to prioritise competing workloads, and prioritise tasks
- Ability to work flexibly to meet the demands and needs of the organisation

What we would like, but not essential:

- Recognised housing qualification and/or building health and safety qualification
- Experience working within supported housing environment and/or similar organisation to Social Interest Group
- Experience of developing and implementing initiatives to improve rent collection
- Able to influence and negotiate positive outcomes with others
- Understanding and ability to manage agency relationships and responsibilities, including landlords
