Role description - PILOT SUPPORT

Responsible for day-to-day running of Elder Care Ride Service.

Based mainly in and around Hove. Some work at our other ‘All-Ages Ride Service which is based on Madeira Drive.

Key aims of the role:

- Recruit, retain and support the volunteer cycle pilots who work exclusively in our Elder Care Service.
- Provide all training (cycle, participant care and dementia support skills). We have a written guide to all elements of our training and full training by our current staff will be provided to the postholder.
- Regular ‘companion-riding’ (alongside newly trained pilots), supporting rides, plus being ‘on call’ by phone for urgent queries 0800-1500 on set ride days which are Mon-Weds.
- Liaise and engage care homes effectively.

Volunteer training, support and ride management
- Recruit, train, support and manage all volunteer cycle pilots.
- Undertake annual ‘Safeguarding Lead’ training and ensure all team plus service users (care homes) understand and implement our safeguarding measures at all times.
- Manage ride bookings and ‘on the ride day’ WhatsApp messaging.
- Manage cycle maintenance needs via our Mechanic.
- Manage any arising needs for participants, pilots and care homes.
- Coordinate 3 volunteer socials per year, evenings, usually Thursdays - 2.5 hours.
- Data management and privacy
- complying with regulations and our policies at all times.
- Manage relationships with care providers and attend events to promote our work.

Communications/PR
- Writing and providing content for: - Volunteers - Social media (three platforms) - Media, community and fundraising
- Manage comms platforms we e.g. booking, Mailchimp, Survey Monkey and website.
- Undertake reports, logging and monitoring e.g. survey results, contacts.
- Any other tasks consummate with the role.
