Kickstart Learning is a specialist teaching, mentoring and advice service working with neurodivergent children, their families and schools. We are a neurodiversity affirming organisation meaning that we see neurodiversity as natural differences in how people’sbrains process the world and we believe that neurodivergent brains need embracing and validating rather than fixing. We are passionate about enabling the children we support to make sense of the world they live in and building their self-advocacy skills tohelp them feel happy, understood and accepted for who they are.

This opportunity is a critical link in that process: working one-to-one with children and young people, creating and facilitating bespoke tutoring sessions tailored to each individual’s needs and interests. All our sessions are highly practical and activeto help engage and motivate the students we work with. We are looking for someone who is happy to take part in everything from Minecraft to football and pick up a Nerf gun as easily as some Lego.

You will ideally be a fully qualified teacher although this isn't essential if we find someone who has the experience, passion and knowledge to engage a wide range of learners. You will need to plan sessions that are practical, fun and memorable and be confidentin your ability to adapt sessions depending on the child's mood and engagement.

We will provide training for the successful applicant and we will expect you to refine and develop your skills and knowledge as you progress in the role. The ability to work independently and use your own initiative will be a crucial part of the role andyou must be confident at communicating both verbally and in writing.
