BILSTHORPE PARISH COUNCIL

**Vacancy for part-time Parish Clerk (Fixed term 12-month Maternity Cover)**

**15 hours per week, £12.90+ per hour depending on experience**

**Overview**: The Council is made up of 11 Councillors who meet monthly, on the second Monday of the month at 6.30pm. Bilsthorpe village has an electorate of 2650 and growing rapidly. The village is located towards the centre of Nottinghamshire. The Parish Council own a Village Hall that is currently closed for rebuild/renovation and a building leased by a mining museum. The Council own and maintain 2 public open spaces, both equipped with play and gym equipment.

**The role**: The Clerk has overall responsibility for administering all services and activities. This includes management of premises and facilities, project management and events management support. The Clerk is expected to advise the Parish Council on, and assist in the formation of policies, and to produce all the information required for effective decision making and implementation.

The Clerk is responsible for the management of the Council’s one staff member.

**Requirements**:Good administrative, organisation and communication skills. Experience in team management and mentorship.
