Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) within NHS Ayrshire and Arran has been re-designed to include:

- Specialist Community CAMHS (C-CAMHS):
This team offers specialist assessment, care and treatment of children and young people experiencing serious mental health problems such as low mood, anxiety, suicidal ideation.
- Neurodiverse CAMHS (N-CAMHS):
This team provides specialist clinical support, assessment and diagnosis for children and young people experiencing combined challenges of mental ill-health with a neurodevelopmental condition such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
- CAMHS Urgent Assessment and Intensive Treatment (CUAIT):
This team responds to the urgent needs of children and young people who are experiencing a mental health crisis. This is a 7 day a week service.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a play therapist to join our Neurodiverse-CAMHS (N-CAMHS) team within Ayrshire and Arran. Ayrshire is a wonderful and exceptional place to have a true quality of life providing the best of options - lovely towns and villages, city life within a short and easy commute, countryside, rolling hills, stunning beaches and sandy shores, the wonders of island life and excellent network of transport links throughout Scotland.

You will be working alongside our multi-disciplinary team to provide therapeutic support to children/young people with neurodevelopmental presentation who are experiencing social, emotional and mental health difficulties. We believe in providing therapeutic interventions, tailored to the individual needs of children/young people and their families. Reporting to the Neurodevelopmental Team Co-ordinator you will develop individualised programmes, with outcome measures that evidence the therapeutic benefits of play therapy.

You will be fully supported to test out new ideas and innovations in collaboration with our Quality Improvement, Data and Engagement Team as we continue to develop our services.

You are required to be professionally registered, to have a good working knowledge of current national policy and practice experience relevant to paediatrics and the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people.

A current driving licence and access to a car are essential for community working.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week.
