**Position: - HR Officer**

BHC is one of the UKs leading Structural Steel Fabrication and Construction companies supplying and erecting fabricated steel nationwide within the UK and Ireland.

Due to continuous expansion, we are seeking to recruit an HR Officer to join our team. As HR Officer you will play a key role in supporting and ensuring the smooth operation of the HR Function.

As part of this role, you will actively engage in enhancing communication channels, and building working relationships. Working closely with the HR Manager and Departmental Managers, you will play a vital role in enhancing employee engagement and fostering a positive company culture.

**Key responsibilities -**:

- To be the first point of contact for all day-day HR related questions / concerns.
- Provide HR support and guidance to managers on HR related matters which reflect current employment legislation, policies, and best practice, contributing to a positive and engaging company culture.
- Assist in the recruitment process, including drafting job descriptions, Job adverts, review CV’s, scheduling interviews and taking notes.
- Assist with the preparation of HR Documents, such as offer letters, employment contracts, and policies.
- Assist in onboarding new employees, including carrying out new employee inductions.
- Carry out Exit Interviews as required,
- Assist in managing the probationary review process.
- Assist in scheduling occupational Health appointments ensuring annual medicals are carried out as and when required.
- Assist in maintaining employee records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Process employee status changes, including internal promotions, transfers etc.
- Respond to employee enquiries regarding any HR related matters and address all employee issues in a timely manner and respond to any enquiries promptly.
- Co-ordinate employee events, meetings, and training sessions as needed.
- Support HR projects and initiatives.
- Stay informed about relevant employment laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
- Assist in employee relation cases, including disciplinary, grievance, performance management and probationary reviews.
- Assist in monitoring short, and long term, absence in the appropriate manner.
- Ensure confidentiality at all times.
- Provide administrative support, to HR and other departments as necessary.

**Skills and Experience-**:

- Previous experience in Human Resources or related field essential,
- CIPD qualified to a minimum of level 3 desirable.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent attention to detail
- Organised and pro-active, with a drive to deliver results and manage self effectively.
- Capable of working to deadlines and adapting to changing conditions.
- Strong initiative and problem-solving abilities.
- Flexibility and willingness to learn.

The ability to manage a varied and demanding workload is essential, as is excellent communication organisational, and time management skills.

A valid driving licence would be beneficial due to the location.
