We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and hard working individual to join our committed team as a Groundsperson at Craigton Crematorium.

As a Groundsperson, you will be carrying out a full range of gardening & horticultural tasks, including building new gardens and maintaining a high-quality environment.

This is a full time permanent position working 38.33 hours per week, Monday - Friday 08:30am - 16:30pm

**What Will I Be Doing as a Groundsperson?**

Duties will include but will not be limited to:

- Take care of the grounds, keeping them maintained and presentable
- Supporting the creation of memorial gardens and plots to client specification
- Make sure graves are dug appropriately for the deceased and maintain graves as needed for the friends and family of the deceased
- Dealing with visitors' enquiries
- Construct, place, fix memorials and subsequently maintain them to the highest standard
- Clear the grounds, paths and roadways of litter
- Operate the cremators and ancillary equipment in accordance with manufactures guidelines (Full training will be provided)
- Input & maintain records on computers to comply with industry regulations
- Ensure the safe custody of ashes in the care of the crematorium

**What Do I Need?**
- Horticultural/Gardening/landscaping experience is preferred.
- Willingness to learn, develop your skills and undertake training courses
- Experience in operating mechanical gardening equipment is advantageous, although training can be provided for this
- Is comfortable with manual handling tasks
- Excellent attention to detail is essential
- Good communication skills
- Comfortable working in a team or carrying out tasks by yourself

- An annual salary of £23,088.00
- Accruing 22 - 25 days holiday + bank holidays.
