**Outdoor Activity Teaching Assistant**

Based in the historical town,_ Taunton_, the school is for young people in **years 5 - 11** who have an **Educational, Health and Care Plan (EHCP)** to support their **SEMH** and **Student Centred Learning (SCL)** needs.

The curriculum is delivered both in and out of the classroom - with outdoor education, this introduces the role of **outdoor activity leader**. You will be **assisting the leader** in the organisation and running of enrichment activities, forest school, art. In addition to this, ensuring students are demonstrating development of emotional literacyand communication skills.

With all students, especially those in _KS4_, the last years of education are an integral part of their experience, it’s preparing them for the next stages of life. To be considered for the role it is **paramount** that you have extensive **experience** of working with students with **challenging behaviour**. This can include working within a mainstream school environment, or alternative provision, either as a teaching assistant or working as an outdoor activity leader. You must maintain a high level of professionalism, ensuringsafeguarding rules are being adhered to; collaborating with a fantastic team, with morning briefing being held every morning.

The position will be full time working **Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm, term time only**. If you demonstrate to be an excellent addition to the team and excel within the role, there will be an opportunity to progress to a **permanent position**.
