Job Introduction
The** Infant Feeding Connector** is a non-registered practitioner working across Essex taking a lead role in the Infant Feeding agenda for the Essex Child and Family Wellbeing Service. Supported by the Infant Feeding Practitioners with a special interest, they will work together to drive forward the training and development of the work force (including infant feeding volunteers) in relation to Infant Feeding.

The role will be based within either an office base, Family Hub or Virtually across Essex.

Main Responsibilities

**Key Responsibilties - **Including but not limited to:

- Oversee and drive forward the Infant Feeding Practitioners with Special Interest across Essex.
- Create and Lead the Infant Feeding Practitioners with Special Interest meetings to ensure that key messages are delivered and fed back to the teams.
- Working with the Practice Education Team to coordinate an Essex wide list of all colleagues and their Infant Feeding training Status and keep updated and current
- Working with an Administrator to ensure that all staff are booked onto Infant feeding training as they start with ECFWS, are booked in yearly for update training and to ensure all skills assessments completed.
- To organise regular monthly initial 2 day training and update sessions booked 12 months ahead utilising PE Team, and Infant Feeding Practitioners.
- To organise and participate in monthly Update sessions on a different infant feeding topic each month, a rolling 12 month programme
- To deliver weekly (dependant on need) ‘drop in’ sessions for colleagues to ask questions about Infant feeding, supported by Practice Education Team
- To assist with Infant feeding Volunteer supervision sessions and training
- To review and develop current training with Infant Feeding Practitioners with special interest and PE Team to update and keep training fresh and inline with Baby Friendly Compliance
- Lead on audit and evaluation when required
- Be the voice of the ECFWS to promote Infant feeding - Attending Infant Feeding Network meetings, liasing with Infant feeding leads within local NHS trusts and volunteer Infant feeding charities
- Work in partnership with HCRG Care Group Infant feeding leads from across the UK
- Any other function commensurate with competencies and job role
- Experience in delivering training to practitioners & clients.
- Creating training packages in line with BFI would be essential.
- Knowledge of national and local policy in Children’s Service and Public Health.
- Ability to work alone and part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Excellent IT skills and able to use electronic client record such as SystmOne
