Tester

We have an amazing opportunity for Tester to join us here at Hasting Direct. If you have experience of both manual and automation Testing and great BDD knowledge, we would love to hear from you.

Role purpose

The Tester role will involve the design and execution of testing scenarios and analysis of test results, whilst working as part of a testing team to support successful delivery of high quality software and / or infrastructure changes across Hastings Direct systems and platforms.

Accountabilities

Your remit will include the following:

- Design and execution of testing scenarios (automated and manual) including record keeping
- Analysis of test results and timely raising of defects
- Contributes to the integrity of testing and acceptance activities minimising defect leakage into production
- Supports test lead in identification of problem areas, suggesting, reviewing and implementing corrective actions
- Conformance to agreed process standards and industry specific regulations
- Supporting a culture of continuous improvements through regular retrospectives
- Providing ideas to improve efficiency and help with their implementation
- Participation in post live testing by providing overnight and on call support where necessary
- Delivering test results to agreed timelines
- Identification of risk and issues including timely escalation
- Adoption of new tools and processes
- Achieving optimal levels of test automation using available tools
- Proactive collaboration between all members of the delivery teams to gain common understanding
- Contributing to the Testing Community of Practice
- Demonstrate levels of competence necessary to fulfil job requirements
- Timely completion of PDR’s and mandatory trainings

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

Essential
- Experience in creating test approach, test design and execution (manual and automated) for small to medium size initiatives
- Understanding of various testing methodologies
- Knowledge of Agile methodology

Tools & Technologies:

- Guidewire Insurance Suite
- ALM Octane, JIRA or equivalent tools
- Test automation frameworks using tools like Selenium, Cucumber, TestNG or equivalent
- Understanding of BDD and / or TDD
