Welding Supervisor

We are looking for Workshop Manager to supervise all Welding and Fabrication operations both onsite and offsite.

John Tracey Specialist Welding offers clients a fully comprehensive welding service, from welding inspection to consultancy, 24 hours a day. With a commitment to the use of the latest techniques, we continually invest in ongoing training and development, from metallurgical compatibility of new materials and new welding rods to new procedures and new test techniques.

The key responsibilities of the role would primarily be:

- Ensure all teams working on welding and fabrication projects, regardless of location, are operating safely and to a high standard.
- Complete site meetings to agree scope of works and ‘best practice’ for working on site.
- Contribute to design and installation of all projects.
- Build relationships with clients to ensure JTSW is the go-to specialist for continued welding and fabrication needs.
- Motivate the team towards collective goals.
- Ability to read and interpret Engineering and fabrication drawings.
- Design and implement team training programmes.
- Effective management of resource including holidays
- Develop team members to allow for career progression within team.
- Effective decision-making considering impact on overall business, project, and team members.
- Welding and fabrication as required in workshop and site.
- Extensive knowledge of oil and gas/marine and structural welding/fabrication works and standards.
- At least 5 years relevant experience
- Excellent welding experience in all processes and materials
- NC/HNC in Welding/Fabrication

JTSW are based at Westway Park, described as Scotland’s ultimate industrial park. There is a rich history of fabrication on the site with it being the former home to Babcock’s steam generation fabrication business. Westway is situated in Renfrew and is close by major shopping and leisure facilities at Braehead and Hillington. Glasgow city centre is around 9 miles away.
