**Freight Co-ordinator / Sales**
**Job Role**: Freight Co-ordinator / Sales
**Working Hours**: Monday - Friday, 8am - 4:30pm. Saturday, 10am - 4pm (2 in 4).
**Pay**: £11 - £15 per hour depending on experience
**Location**: Leicester (LE1/LE2), 2 sites.
**Contract**: Full Time, Permanent
**Benefits**: 28 days annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays), Pension, Wellness bonuses, Saturday bonus and Quiz bonuses.
**The Role**
We have an exciting opportunity for a Freight Co-ordinator based in Leicester. This will be either at our warehouse office (LE1) or main office site (LE2).
- Duties & Responsibilities_
- Get rates from suppliers which you can then turn into a quote for a customer.
- Entering these rates into an excel based rate management spreadsheet
- Learn and understand the concept of air/sea freight so you can sell our product with confidence.
- Turn a quote into a sale and provide follow ups with clients and suppliers.
- Build your own client base of personal and commercial clients.
- Deal with customer phone calls.
- Deal with face to face enquiries.
- Clear and respond to WhatsApp enquiries constantly.
- Understand how air/sea freight works and how it links in with all the other services we provide. Be able to process and up sell our other services.
- Contact suppliers to negotiate the best possible prices.
- Liaise with marketing team to market your product through direct and indirect channels.
- Work on your own or part of a team to promote our products.
- Understand measurements, currency conversions, dimensions and volume calculations to ensure rates are correctly calculated and logged. Ensure selling prices are working against the correct margins based on the customer requirements.
- Hands on; be able to pack and potentially load and unload goods.
- Create and maintain a cost price spreadsheet using Excel.
- Formulate sales reports and strategies.
- Liaise with the CEO on projects and ideas to increase workflow and sales.
- Understand the dynamic of the work we do, our clients and our vision. Constantly learning and coming up with your own ideas to help company growth.
Training will be given, but it’s up to you to pioneer yourself and develop. Once we recognise your hunger and strengths, the sky’s the limit in terms of progression.
- Essential_
- Have some knowledge of air/sea freight, geography, ports, containers, etc.
- Minimum 1 years Sales experience.
- Excellent telephone manner. You will be liaising with suppliers, customers and managers constantly.
- Be able to manage your own workload and meet targets in a busy hectic environment.
- Computer Literate and can work on different systems including Microsoft office.
- Desirable_
- Have previously worked within a shipping company.
- Previous experience in a similar role.
- 3-5 years sales experience.
- Have your own transport.
