Medical Education Administrator

We are looking to recruit an organised, keen individual interested in developing their administration skills set in a medical education context working with Postgraduate Doctors in training, medical students and Consultant trainers.
You will work closely with the Medical Education Manager and Programme Leads to maintain and further develop our high-quality training offer. With your team, you’ll be working with an excellent group of trainees and students and a committed team of programme directors, education leads and supervisors.
You’ll be a confident and forward-thinking and responsive professional, with a commitment to providing high quality services to all our stakeholders. Your IT skills will be excellent; you’ll be a good time manager, able to plan and deliver on time and in time; and you’ll be good at maintaining and developing accurate data sets.
This is an exciting time to be joining the Trust as its new, world class facilities are being completed across its main sites. A new ‘Springfield Village’ continues to open next year as South West London & St George’s headquarters is transformed into a new community through the development of hundreds of homes, a new public square, shops and a new 32-acre park.
The Medical Education Administrator is responsible supporting the Medical Education Manager and their Team in the provision of a high quality, comprehensive administrative service for the medical education and training programmes organised across the Trust.
The postholder will have a range of responsibilities including organisation and delivery, face-to-face, virtual and hybrid, of Core Psychiatry teaching programmes and the Trust’s Medical Academic programme; and management of study leave permissions and expense claims process. They will also provide administrative support to colleagues across the team on an ad hoc basis for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
The Trust has approximately 125 training posts. These are predominantly Core and Specialist doctors in Psychiatry, with approximately 25 Foundation and GPVTS posts. The Team also supports training for SAS doctors. Our medical student intake is approximately 240 per year. In addition to supporting our trainees and students, the Team also provides training support for all our Consultant trainers.
The role will be remote on Mondays and Fridays and office-based on Tuesday to Thursday.

Springfield University Hospital, Tooting
Our largest, 19-ward site is in Springfield Village, created following our £150m investment into two new world class mental health facilities. A 32-acre public park, shops and cafes are coming soon. Close to shops, cafes and Tooting Bec on the Northern Line plus Earlsfield and Tooting rail stations and bus routes.
To organise and support, with the Medical Education Team, the delivery of education, training and professional development of Postgraduate Doctors in Training (PDTs), SAS doctors, and the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) of Consultants. With the Team, the postholder will ensure the Trust delivers contractual obligations related to Postgraduate Medical Education as set out within the Learning and Development Agreement (LDA). The postholder will also provide ad hoc support to the Coordinator for the MBBS programme.
OPERATIONAL ADMINISTRATION
Under the guidance of the Medical Education Manager (MEM), the postholder will collaborate with the Medical Education Coordinators and programme leads to plan and deliver specific elements of the Trust’s medical training programmes and they will support large scale programme events, e.g., inductions. Indicatively, this will include:
- Organising and delivering the weekly teaching programmes for the Core Psychiatry trainees (CPST) f-2-f or virtual. Also organising exam revision classes and mock exams;
