The Trust is totally committed to ensuring there is a focus on quality and improving patient outcomes and delivering on the Trust’s Quality & Safety Framework, and so we are excited to be recruiting a specialist in Quality, Safety & Assurance to lead our Corporate Quality & Safety team.
The role involves leading and promoting a culture of learning and sharing across the Trust,. The Head of Quality, Safety & Assurance will create an environment where which supports collaboration and excellence, whilst delivering quality improvements.

The post holder will be a member of the Corporate Nursing/Quality & Safety Team. They will be responsible and accountable for the development, implementation and monitoring of a robust Quality, Safety, Regulation and patient/donor experience programs, that spans across the Trust.
The post holder will support the Executive Director of Nursing, AHP & Health Science and the Executive Medical Director to execute their Quality, Safety & Assurance responsibilities. This will include translation of national plans, strategies, requirements and legislation into Trust strategies and plans.
They will work with a number of internal and external agencies, Executive Directors, Divisional and governance / regulator teams in the development and delivery of a strategic Quality, Safety and Experience programme.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Experience
Essential
- In depth knowledge in a number of management disciplines which include financial management, performance management, information systems, staff management acquired through training and experience over an extended period - This is a critical part of role given the triangulation of quality, safety, experience, workforce, finance outcomes that is required
- Experience leading quality and safety at Senior Management Level
Knowledge
- Extensive working knowledge of Welsh Government’s ‘Putting Things Right’ (2011) Regulations and guidance
- Extensive working knowledge of patient safety and quality mechanisms
- Extensive working knowledge of leading and developing patient / donor experience systems
- Extensive knowledge of the effective performance management & service level to Board assurance reporting

- Ability to analyse and appropriately present often highly complex information
- Proven ability to achieve targets and objectives within a demanding and pressured environment against challenging deadlines
- Ability to share vision and engender ownership in others
- Sound judgment, decision making, and organisational skills
