**CONSULTANT UROLOGICAL SURGEON WITH A SUB-SPECIALTY INTEREST IN ROBOTIC ASSISTED LAPAROSCOPIC PROSTATECTOMY [RALP]**

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Urological Surgeon with a speciality interest in robotic assisted laparoscopic prostatectomy [RALP]. This substantive post will be available from August 2023.
The successful applicant must be experienced in dealing with patients with prostate cancer and performing RALP. One session a week will be dedicated to support the National Spinal Injuries Unit in relation to urological management based at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital [QEUH]. The post holder will work closely with our three established RALP surgeons and prostate clinical nurse specialists. The out of hours commitment would be a 1 in 9.5 on-call rota.
You should be an appropriately trained individual who is able to provide a urological service at consultant level.
The elective sessions relating to the post will be delivered from the QEUH, Victoria Ambulatory Care Facility and Gartnavel General Hospital.
All newly qualified Consultants are initially offered a minimum of 1 Core Supporting Professional Activity (SPA) which includes CPD, audit, clinical governance, appraisal, revalidation, job planning and management meetings. This will be reviewed within 6 months (or earlier if required) of appointment and revised upwards if additional responsibilities are agreed.
