The Senior Home Care worker will have responsibility for care managing customers care needs and supervision of Home Care Workers within a designated geographical area, as designated by the Team Manager.

The Senior Home Care worker will provide support to the Team managers and assistance to ensure that the service provided reflects the needs and requests of those we support. The primary role of the Senior Home Care worker is to provide direct care and support to service users and supervision and support to home care staff. There will be occasions when the Senior Home Care worker will also undertake home care reviews /assessments, scheduling and participate in quality assurance measures relevant to the service and undertake Support and supervisions and annual appraisals.

**General responsibilities**
- Deliver direct care and support to service users.
- Supervise and support Home Care Workers
- Participate in the quality assurance protocols of the service.
- Undertake Care Coaching and mentoring for new Home Care Staff
- Under assessments and complete care plans for those we support
- Undertake support and supervision and annual appraisals to support staff.
- Deploy home care staff to various geographical areas in which Invercare works ensuing professional and ethical standards of practice and service delivery.
- Undertake rotas and schedules for home care staff.
- Participate and implement relevant policies, procedures, protocols, and operational systems in accordance with those already in existence in the company.
- Achieve the aims and objectives across the services in accordance with the values and principles of Invercare.
- Use IT skills and be use various IT platforms with proficiency.
- Provide efficient administrative and resource management.
- Establish and easily accessible and effective system for ensuring that individuals rights voice, choice satisfaction and welfare are safeguarded.
- Ensure good communication, liaison and working partnerships with relevant statutory, voluntary and independent agencies and local communities
- Promote and publicise the work of the service in a positive manner and represent the organisation as necessary
- Maintain a working knowledge of issues and developments relating to service provision and the current legislation affecting this.
- Care Manage services for those we support.
- Participate in quality assurance measures as per company policies and procedures.
- Participate in ongoing training and development.

**Lead and manage staff**
- Create, maintain and enhance effective working relationships
- Ensure that the staff group meet on an agreed basis to discuss the services progress and issues of concern.
- Ensure the staff team are effectively deployed to meet the support needs of the people we work for
- Ensure that staff receive regular support and supervision and annual appraisals to enable them to meet individual need
- Identify future training needs of staff and consolidate current good practices
- Ensure that staff familiarise themselves with the aims and objectives of both the service and the Organisation, and that they are equipped to carry these through
- Ensure that staff conduct themselves in an appropriate, professional and ethical manner always
- Promote a culture of continuous learning and a positive, solution-based focus to addressing challenges for the people we work for and the service.
- Deliver agreed programmes of training and induction as well as providing on the job coaching and mentoring.
- Contribute to the recruitment and selection of staff as appropriate.
