A skilled CNC Machinist / Department Manager is needed to manage workshop production at Whitelegg Machines Ltd. based in Kent.

To perform the job of a CNC Machinist, you should have a strong background in mathematics, computer programming, and manufacturing processes.

This is a demanding role with plenty of scope for self-advancement.

**About the Role**:
The CNC Machinist / Department Manager will be responsible for managing the department, including overseeing all operations, maintaining and repairing equipment, managing inventory, and ensuring that all projects are completed on time and to the highestquality standards.

Applicants must be able to work on their own initiative producing a wide range of components in a variety of materials.

**Required Skills**:

- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in managing projects from start to finish, including sourcing parts, ordering materials, and tracking progress to ensure on-time delivery.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and other specifications to determine the correct machining operations and settings
- Writing and editing CNC programs using computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software
- Setting up and calibrating the CNC machines and 3D printers to ensure accurate and efficient production
- Inspecting and measuring finished parts to ensure they meet the required specifications, making adjustments to the machine settings as necessary
- Maintaining the machines and equipment, including performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting any issues that arise
- Collaborating with engineers and other professionals to optimise the manufacturing process and improve product quality and efficiency
- Ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, including following established procedures and guidelines
- Operating the machines to perform milling, drilling, turning, and other machining operations

**Desirable Skills**:

- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of engineering science and technology
- Knowledge and understanding of mathematics
- The ability to work on your own
- Design skills and knowledge
- Completion of a certificate or degree program in CNC machining, 3D printing, or a related field is preferred
