An opportunity has arisen within the Catering Department at Dorset County Hospital, to support catering procurement with ordering and receiving deliveries.

Previous procurement experience is welcome but not essential; the full training for the role will be given for the right applicant, including training in the usage of the computerised ordering system e-Procurement and Menumark.

We are looking for a well-organised individual, with good communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Support and guidance will be given throughout; learning opportunities and training will be provided.

You will work closely with the Head of Catering Operations Manager, the Food Production Manager, Retail Catering Manager and the Head Chef and contribute to stock projects to improve our standardisation of stock and stock rotation FIFO(First IN, First Out) or FEFO(First Expires, First Out), as well as taking part in monthly Stock Take Reports.

Working hours are 37.5 hours working 5 days a week, Mon-Fri with opportunities for additional working hours to support catering admin office with annual leave cover.

The post holder will be responsible for the administration and data input of catering office systems Menumark and Trust e-procurement, including the co-coordinating of the menus daily for food production purposes, to include special diets and other special requirements. Working closely with the kitchen brigade to ensure controls are in place and enough stock is ordered for the Damers Restaurant, Main Kitchen, and Wards. Provide a high-quality, efficient customer and administration service to support the smooth running of the catering department. Communication and a friendly manner is key to this role; you must be an effective communicator with excellent interpersonal skills and a pleasant manner. High standards of personal hygiene and appearance are a must.
