This is a rewarding and flexible role, suitable for professionals from Counselling, Psychotherapy, Psychology or related Mental Health disciplines, who are registered with a Professional Body (e.g. BABCP, BACP, BPS, HCPC, UKCP).

The role of a Specialist Mentor (Mental Health) is to work 1-to-1 with university students, empowering them to achieve their full potential. Most of the work will be carried out remotely from home. However, we would ask you to work out of one of our offices (Westminster, Bloomsbury, Tottenham or Finchley) at least 1 day per week to work with students who value face-to-face contact.

To be successful in the role, you will need to:

- Encourage the student to identify and reflect on their own barriers, and teach strategies to help mitigate those barriers
- Use coaching and mentoring skills to offer support
- Provide non-judgmental and empathetic listening support, whilst taking a solution-focused approach
- Ensure the confidentiality of students
- Have excellent time management skills
